Soviet dancer Vladimir Karimov, 39, disappeared last week from a hotel in Madrid, where he was performing with a Soviet dance troupe, Spain’s El Pais newspaper reported Sunday. The newspaper said Karimov, who was in Madrid with the Red Army Choir and Dance Troupe, was noticed missing by his dance troupe about 8 a.m. Friday. After waiting several hours for him, the troupe traveled to Portugal, where it was scheduled to perform. Police said the disappearance of the Soviet dancer would be the first step in asking for political asylum but that they had not heard from him.
