A 16-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle and killed Sunday while crossing the southbound lanes of California 67 north of Archie Moore Road in Ramona on a bicycle, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Jorge H. Sosa, 16, hit head-on by a vehicle traveling northbound, was dead at the scene at 8:12 p.m., Deputy Coroner Chuck Bolton said.
Sosa was a transient and was drunk at the time, CHP Officer Nick Ozanne said.
The 30-year-old driver of the vehicle, Ronald Peterson of Ramona, was not charged, Ozanne said.
