A coroner’s court in Auckland, New Zealand, ruled Wednesday that a local teen-ager hanged himself after watching the film “Hang ‘Em High” in which actor Clint Eastwood survives a lynching. Cameron Hawkins, 14, was found by his mother Aug. 10 hanging in his bedroom wardrobe with a belt around his neck. The coroner who heard the case said that Hawkins and his friends had been intrigued by the 1968 Western, in which Eastwood’s character swears revenge on the men who left him for dead.
