COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Morlin Shoots SCC to 1-0 Soccer Victory

Doug Morlin’s goal off a header in the second half helped the Southern California College men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Point Loma Nazarene in a Golden State Athletic Conference match at SCC Wednesday.

Morlin’s goal, with about 14 minutes remaining in the match, was assisted by Robert Hastings. Goalkeeper Toby Ray had five saves for SCC (4-12-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play). Nazarene is 4-5-4, 1-2-1.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Cal Poly Pomona 4, Chapman 0--Pomona scored three goals after corner kicks and host Chapman (4-8-2) managed only one shot on goal.
