Your Guide to Soviet Arts Fest
SAN DIEGO — You’d never know there was once a Cold War.
Since the introduction of glasnost and perestroika , relations between the Soviet Union and the United States have steadily thawed, and, beginning Saturday, San Diego becomes part of the warming trend when the city plays host to “Treasures of the Soviet Union,” the much-ballyhooed and much-maligned $6-million arts festival that has been two years in the making.
