New York writer John Patrick Shanley, who won an Academy Award in 1988 for his screenplay of “Moonstruck,” ends a two-year absence from local theater stages with the Nov. 4 opening of his friendship tale “Women of Manhattan” (at the Tiffany Theatre in Hollywood), featuring Susan Anton. Shanley won a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his play “Savage in Limbo,” which ran at the Cast Theatre in 1987.
