Competitors Buy Piece of Milliken: For the first time, stock in the Milliken & Co. has left family hands and belongs to Delta Woodside Industries of Greenville, S.C., competitors of the privately held $2.5-billion textile empire. Executives of Delta Woodside paid $73,000 to buy a fraction of a percent interest in Milliken from disgruntled family members. But Delta Woodside said it hopes future purchases can boost its share to 15%.
