Contract Wage Gains Reported: Private-sector workers who got new contracts through collective bargaining from January through September won average annual wage increases of 3.1%, compared to 2.4% in their previous contracts, the Labor Department reported. The data covers contracts for 1.3 million workers negotiated in the first nine months of the year.
