BUENA PARK : Man Changing Flat Killed by Passing Car
A man changing a flat tire on the southbound Santa Ana Freeway in Buena Park was killed early Sunday morning when another car crashed into his, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A woman in the parked car suffered major injuries.
The second driver, Jose Armando Amador, 18, of Fullerton, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving, the CHP said.
The accident occurred at about 1:40 a.m. just south of Stanton Avenue as Teodoso Perez Pineda, 43, of Santa Ana was changing a flat on the left side of his car.
His passenger, Maria Pineda, 52, was taken to United Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
The CHP said Amador’s car was going about 60 m.p.h. when it crashed into the couple’s vehicle.
