Bel-Air : Exploring Jewish Humor

Jewish humor will be the subject of a daylong seminar Sunday at the University of Judaism.

Co-sponsored by the university and UCLA Extension, the program will feature Moshe Waldoks, author of “The Big Book of Jewish Humor,” and Allan Gould, co-author of “The Unorthodox Book of Jewish Records and Lists.”

Part lecture, part discussion and part cabaret-style performance, the program will include consideration of such topics as “Messianists, Medicine Men and Movable Furniture: A Short History of Jewish Humor” and “Laughing and Keeping from Crying: The Jewish Joke and Jewish Humor.”

The program will be held at the University of Judaism, 15600 Mulholland Drive, Bel-Air, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $60, $48.75 for seniors. For more information, call UCLA Extension at 825-2301.
