WASHINGTON —
Five vocal supporters of a woman’s right to have an abortion were arrested today in the office of Rep. Henry J. Hyde (R-Ill.), U.S. Capitol police said.
The four women and one man were escorted from the reception area of Hyde’s office in the Rayburn House Office Building to a police van at about 9:20 a.m.
They chanted, “Abortion on demand and no apology” as they were loaded into the van.
Hyde is an opponent of abortion.
