WORLD : Nicaragua Talks Set Thursday

UNITED NATIONS —
The United Nations has scheduled a meeting with the Nicaragua government and the Contra rebels Thursday and Friday in an effort to renew a cease-fire between the two sides, a spokeswoman announced today.
The Contras have accepted the invitation, and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega has indicated that those dates are acceptable.
Ortega originally proposed talks for today and Tuesday, but the Contras said they needed more time.
