Harvard Club Wins U.S. Water Polo Title

The Harvard Water Polo Foundation, a North Hollywood-based club composed of international-caliber players, won the United States Water Polo National Indoor Championships last weekend in Irving, Tex.

Harvard, under the direction of Harvard High Coach Rich Corso, defeated the New York Athletic Club, 16-10, in Sunday’s final.

“It’s the first national championship for the club and we’re only 10 months old,” said Corso, the club’s founder.

Harvard was led by goalie Craig Wilson, a two-time Olympian; Jeff Chase, formerly of UCLA; and Kirk Everist, a member of the U. S. national team. Terry Schroeder, a three-time Olympian who played at Pepperdine before taking over as coach of the Waves, also played.
