Tri-Star Pictures took the top spots in the box office for the second weekend in a row with two major success stories. The John Travolta comedy “Look Who’s Talking” grossed $11.4 million for a per-screen average of $6,953. The fall record-breaker has totalled $74.3 million in only 5 weeks of release and will soon reach the $100-million mark, according to figures compiled by Entertainment Data Inc.

Meanwhile, director Jean-Jacques Annaud’s adventure film “The Bear” fell only 5%, grossing $4.8 million. Universal’s “Dad,” starring Jack Lemmon, expanded to 1,108 screens and finished third in the box office at $4.5 million. Universal’s Wes Craven horror film “Shocker” ($2.3 million) and Orion’s “Crimes and Misdemeanors” ($2 million), by director Woody Allen, rounded out the Top 5. In limited release, Samuel Goldwyn’s “Henry V” grossed a smash $78,025 in only three theaters. The retelling of Shakespeare’s classic story, this time by British theatrical wunderkind Kenneth Brandagh, averaged $26,008 per screen.
