Driver Dies of Injuries From Freeway Crash
The driver of a garbage truck that overturned Monday on the Ventura Freeway in Woodland Hills died Tuesday morning of his injuries, authorities said.
Anton Massingale, 30, of Walnut was pronounced dead at Northridge Hospital Medical Center after suffering critical injuries in the crash on westbound lanes of the freeway near Woodlake Avenue, Los Angeles police and hospital officials said.
Massingale was pinned in the wreckage Monday morning after he lost control of the Los Angeles city truck and it tipped over, officials said. Traffic was backed up for more than two hours after the crash.
