City to Give Away Reflective Tape

Share

Joggers who run the streets of Rolling Hills can make themselves more visible to motorists by picking up some reflective tape at City Hall. The tape may also be made available at the three gates to the city, if the Community Assn. approves using guard stations to dispense the tape.

The City Council agreed on Monday to provide the tape after receiving a report from the traffic commission saying that residents have complained about joggers, principally on Crest Road, who run several abreast and who wear dark clothing. The council also decided to publicize a list of joggers’ rules, which are part of the Rolling Hills code and require joggers to run single file against traffic.

A city official said the tape will be available as soon as it can be purchased.

Rolling Hills, a private, gated community that restricts motor vehicle traffic, does not restrict pedestrian traffic, so the tape will be available for residents as well as nonresidents.
