The city has been recognized with an award for its innovative employee assistance program, which includes having a staff psychologist on call to help city workers with personal problems.
City officials announced Wednesday that they have received the State and Local Exemplary Award, given to the city by the National Center for Public Productivity in cooperation with the New Jersey’s Rutgers University.
Buena Park was chosen as one of the 25 programs out of almost 300 applicants to be rewarded for improvements in quality and effectiveness of government services.
