The Godfather Part III: The Continuing Story (Zoetrope). Shooting in Rome and NYC. Director Francis Ford Coppola returns, with Al Pacino, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire all reprising roles from the “Godfather” classics of ’72 and ’74. The tumultuous lives of the Corleone family are resumed in this third act which begins circa 1979 in New York City. Andy Garcia is on board as an illegitimate son of Sonny who emerges to play a significant role in the Family’s struggle for domination. Executive producer Fred Fuchs. My Blue Heaven (Warner Bros.). Shooting in Southern California. Steve Martin is a mobster, Rick Moranis an FBI agent and Joan Cusack an assistant D.A. in this comedy from “Steel Magnolias” director Herbert Ross. “When Harry Met Sally” scenarist Nora Ephron wrote the script. Pump Up the Volume (SC/New Line). Shooting in L.A. “Heathers’ ” Christian Slater goes back to high school, this time portraying an insubordinate disc jockey who uses his on-air influence to whip up morale and reunite the class members. Space Case (Lunar Bynne). Shooting in L.A. A “stellar” cast including Hoyt Axton, Ray Walston and Joseph Campanella romp in this comedy adventure set in 2094. It seems that a psychologist has left earth to run a mental institution but instead discovers that deranged loonies are preparing to swoop down on our fair planet. Executive producer George Balaskas. Terror in Paradise (Premiere/Goldpower/Peer Oppenheimer). Shooting in the Philippines. Joanna Pettet and Gary Lockwood star in this intriguing tale of a young couple who innocently stumble onto a remote island where a plastic surgeon is altering the face of a renegade government agent as peril ensues.
