No More KHJ-TV: KHJ-TV, one of the nation’s oldest television stations, announced that it has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission to change its call sign to KCAL, California Nine, on Dec. 2. The Los Angeles station, which broadcasts as Channel 9, first went on the air in 1931 as Don Lee Television’s W6XAO. It became KHJ-TV in 1951 and was acquired by Walt Disney Co. a year ago.
