CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN JOSE : Woman Stabbed by Gang of Youths

A young woman was attacked and seriously hurt by a group of 10 to 15 teen-age youths as she and a friend walked to a market in downtown San Jose, police said. Kimberly Luevano, 19, was stabbed in the chest, back and abdomen, investigators said. Luevano and the friend, whose identity was not released, were nearing the market when the youths began throwing objects at them, police said. The women tried to flee but the youths caught up to Luevano . Police had no motive for the attack, saying that no valuables were taken.
