BREA : City to Seek $980,000 for Housing Loans
- Share via
The city will apply for $980,000 from the Community Development Block Grant Program for 1990-91 for home-improvement loans to 70 residents.
If granted, most of the money will be used to upgrade Brea’s downtown south of Imperial Avenue, on the east and west sides of Brea Boulevard, city officials said.
Mayor Gene A. Leyton said the plan allows Brea to loan money to “people who renovate their homes and help bring them up to health and safety standards.”
Brea has participated in the Community Development Block Program for 15 years and granted nearly 170 housing rehabilitation loans to residents.
