WASHINGTON — The Solar Maximum satellite, responding increasingly to Earth’s pull, dropped 7.5 miles in 24 hours and is expected to crash through the atmosphere about 10:49 p.m. PST on Saturday, NASA said today.
It still was not known where on the globe the 10-year-old satellite might fall.
