Holmes & Narver Services Inc. announced that it has been awarded contracts in Egypt and Saudi Arabia worth a total $137 million.

The largest of the new contracts is a $66-million, three-year renewal of an existing contract for maintenance and operation of a large power plant and water desalination facility in Saudi Arabia.

Holmes & Narver Services also won a four-year, $43.5-million extension of its contract for logistical support of the Egyptian Sinai bases and outposts of the Multinational Force and Observers--the peacekeeping force established in the 1979 Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty.

Under that agreement, the company and its joint operating partner, CARE Services of Cairo, operate and maintain living quarters, community facilities, communications equipment and roads at two large base camps and 24 observation posts.

The third contract, also granted jointly to Holmes & Narver Services and CARE Services, is a $28-million agreement for maintenance of aircraft and aircraft weapons systems supplied to Egypt by the U.S. Air Force.

The pact, which also calls for Holmes & Narver to train Egyptian personnel to maintain the equipment, is for three years with options for two successive one-year renewals.

Holmes & Narver Services is a subsidiary of Holmes & Narver Inc., a major engineering, design and construction project management firm.
