The City Council has approved a $204,000 grant proposal to be submitted to the Community Development Block Grant Program to provide money for low- and moderate-income development projects.
Requested uses for the funds include subsidizing day-care services, renovating a senior citizens center and a community center, and making improvements to Seal Beach Boulevard and Ocean Avenue.
Seal Beach has participated in the grant program for 16 years. In recent years, the city has been granted an average of $75,000 a year for projects, officials said.
