Oxy Gets OK on Piper Field: Occidental Petroleum Corp. said it has received British government approval to redevelop the Piper oil field in the North Sea, where an explosion on a company platform killed 167 men and led to a complete shutdown of all of Occidental’s North Sea production. It reopened production from the Scapa field in July.
