MISSION VIEJO : Witnesses to Fatal Auto Crash Sought

Witnesses to a fatal accident in Mission Viejo on Thanksgiving Day are being sought by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Mission Viejo resident John Rood, 19, was killed and several passengers, all juveniles, suffered minor injuries when his car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Alicia Parkway and Via Linda at 12:45 a.m.
The 17-year-old driver of the other vehicle is being charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Investigators are asking that anyone who saw the accident contact the South County traffic bureau at (714) 249-5200.
