To paraphrase Lord Acton, I think it is fair to say that in politics, money corrupts and lots of money corrupts absolutely. I have never read a more succinct or damning proof of this axiom than Dan Walters’ column about the California GOP and the Keating scandal (Op-Ed Page, Nov. 17).
