Three artworks created during an Oct. 28 “paint-in” protesting planned development of Laguna Canyon were sold at Motzie’s Gallery in Laguna Beach, and half the proceeds will be split between two conservation groups, the Laguna Canyon Conservancy and Laguna Greenbelt Inc. The dollar amount hasn’t been determined because, according to gallery spokeswoman Diana Luchetti-Lavery, the price is still being negotiated on a sculpture by Orell Christian Anderson entitled “Canyon Lady.” The buyer: Santa Ana’s Modern Museum of Art.

Luchetti-Lavery said about 250 people attended the sale, which included works by 22 artists who took part in the protest.
