P.M. BRIEFING : Northwest Cuts Fares to Canada
Northwest Airlines said today it has lowered fares for travel between the United States and six Canadian cities early next year.
Northwest set its fare at $212 for round-trip travel between U.S. cities and Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Victoria. Fares to and from Edmonton will be $251. The lower fares are not available in Alaska and Hawaii.
The new prices, which will be in effect from Jan. 8 to Feb. 15, represent discounts of up to 40%.
Tickets must be purchased seven days before travel or by the end of the day after reservations are made.
