A service aboard the Arizona Memorial will highlight ceremonies today to mark the 48th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which plunged the United States into World War II.

The sunken Arizona is the final resting place for 1,102 Navy men and Marines who were killed in the early morning attack on Dec. 7, 1941. The memorial service will include prayers, presentations of wreaths, a 21-gun salute and the playing of echo taps.
