From Times staff and wire reports

A 23-year-old student at San Jose City College was in police custody Saturday on charges that he molested six young girls during the last year in a residential neighborhood. Police said Timothy Joseph Curley was arrested at his home Friday afternoon and held on $1-million bail on charges of molesting the girls, ages 4 to 7, while they played outside their South San Jose homes. “He may be a suspect in other child molestation cases, and the investigation is still continuing,” said police spokeswoman Veronica Damon. In the incidents, Damon said, a man would begin a conversation with the children and then molest them. Police were aware of the sexual assaults and had posted flyers describing the suspect and his mannerisms and had released four composite sketches of the suspect.
