Share

Six juveniles were arrested Sunday in connection with a drive-by shooting that left three others wounded, police said.

Huntington Beach Police Lt. Gary Davis said patrolling officers heard two shotgun blasts shortly before midnight Saturday near Huntington Village Lane and Center Drive and spotted two cars leaving the area.

Police chased one of the cars, a 1984 Chevrolet Camaro, south on the San Diego Freeway. Just before the car finally pulled over, near the Euclid Avenue off-ramp, the officers saw someone throw a sawed-off shotgun and spent shell casings out of the vehicle, Davis said. The weapon was recovered, and the six juveniles in the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

All were taken to Huntington Beach City Jail, then released to the custody of their parents. Their names were not released because they are juveniles.

The three victims, all juveniles, were treated at nearby hospitals for minor gunshot wounds and released.

A motive for the shooting has not been determined.
