Rykoff-Sexton Inc.: The Los Angeles manufacturer and distributor of food and related products said second-quarter earnings were $4.7 million, down 19% from the year-ago quarter. However, sales rose to $358.3 million, the highest quarterly sales total in the company’s history. Company officials said the net income, as anticipated, was lowered by higher interest expenses and increased operating costs.
