Hawaiian Air to Lay Off 200: Hawaiian Airlines has announced a reduction of its work force by about 200 employees, about 7% of its work force, to cut costs. The airline’s parent company, HAL, has scheduled a stockholder vote in two weeks on a takeover bid by an investor group headed by J. Thomas Talbot and former baseball commissioner Peter V. Ueberroth.
