Regarding Margo Kaufman’s Private Lives “Irrational Pastimes” (Nov. 12): Baltimore, c. 1968. A love nest with hardwood floors. A cornerful of plastic soda empties. A grapefruit has been discovered in the freezer.

I forget the rules of grapefruit bowling except that interference by kittens constituted a foul.
