LOCAL : Driscoll Named Orange Bishop

VATICAN CITY —
Pope John Paul II today appointed Msgr. Michael P. Driscoll, the current vicar general of the Diocese of Orange, as the new auxiliary bishop in that diocese. Driscoll, 50, a native of Long Beach, was ordained in Los Angeles in 1965. He has served as a parish priest in the diocese and later as the director of its social services.
