THE SIDELINES : Reeves Isn’t Planning to Retire

DENVER — Contrary to televised reports, Denver Broncos Coach Dan Reeves is not ready to be put out to pasture.
Two sports commentators, CBS’ Will McDonough and NBC’s Bobby Beathard, reported Sunday that Broncos quarterback Coach Mike Shanahan may have turned down the head coaching job at Kentucky because Reeves and Broncos owner Pat Bowlen had agreed that Shanahan would succeed Reeves when he retired.
“If there was (such an agreement), it was between Pat and Mike,” Reeves said. “It didn’t include me. I’m 45 years old. I hope nobody’s talking about retiring me yet.”
