Geraldine McClure and Danny Parrish will be looking for Palladay Road’s third win of the meeting when she takes on a field of eight in the $4,400 pacing feature tonight at Los Alamitos.

Horses eligible for tonight’s main attraction are those classified C-3 and C-2 by the racing department. The feature is scheduled as the eighth race on the 10-event program. First post will be 7:30 p.m.

Starting tonight, Los Alamitos will add another daily double to its wagering program. Doubles will be carded nightly on races 2 and 3 and on the last two races.

In the feature, Palladay Road is favored to get another local win, even though she starts from the disadvantageous No. 9 post position. Nuevo Party Girl has a big look at the outcome with Nero’s Honey and Theblushaveit battling for the minor awards.

In post position order, the field is as follows: Slick N Sly, Stan Bayless in the race bike; Courageous Gypsy, Jim Morand; Theblushaveit, Frank Sherren; Tri Six Cherie, Rick Kuebler; Nero’s Honey, Rick Plano; Follow That Comet, Jim Lackey; Miss Boom Boom, Joe Lighthill; Nuevo Party Girl, Peter Wrenn, and Palladay Road, Ross Croghan.

Trained by Pete Foley, Palladay Road has looked like a mare on the improve with two wins in four starts during the stand. The daughter of Denali will be getting her toughest test to date as she tackles a field similar to the one she defeated Dec. 13.

Nuevo Party Girl, from the barn of Jim Wilkinson, has not really put in a good effort in quite some time. The sophomore daughter of Armagnac did show a spark of life in her last outing one week ago. Nuevo Party Girl got the lead into the 3/8 mark, couldn’t hold off the streaking Solid Bett into the 3/4, then faded in the lane. She was beaten by 7 1/2 lengths, but her time was 1:59 4/5.
