Fund-Raiser to Benefit Gray Family Nets $1,138
A car wash fund-raiser to benefit the family of Tommie Gray, the Cal State Northridge football player who died last Friday of heart failure, has raised $1,138, an organizer said.
Proceeds will be used to help defray funeral expenses of the Grays, who live in Modesto.
At times, more than 40 CSUN athletes and acquaintances and teammates of Gray took part in the car wash, which was held from noon until dark Thursday in a parking lot at the University Park Apartments complex in which Gray lived.
