The following floats also won prizes at the 1990 Tournament of Roses Parade:

Sweepstakes Trophy, for most beautiful float: “The World Is Your Back Yard,” Century 21 Real Estate Corp., depicting a tree and moss-shaded Victorian home, with multi-hued flowers as stained-glass windows, connected to a fantasy back-yard gazebo with oversize butterflies and hummingbirds.

President’s Trophy, for best floral presentation: “Charms of Bagdad,” Epson America, depicting a Middle East street bazaar menaced by a 100-foot cobra writhing above a snake charmer on a magic carpet, surrounded by smoking genie bottles and giant vases.

Anniversary Trophy, for best presentation of life in the United States: “In Harmony With the Land,” Rand McNally & Co., depicting an American Indian family in a southwestern setting featuring a befeathered horseman and family members weaving baskets and blankets.

Pioneers’ Trophy, for best characterization of the romance of California: “The Harmony of the Fifties,” Burbank Tournament of Roses Assn., depicting a ‘50s cafe-drive-in, waitresses on roller skates, a giant juke box and jitterbuggers on a checkerboard dance floor.

Governor’s Trophy, for most outstanding city entry: “Man’s Best Friend,” City of St. Louis, depicting harmony of man and animals with a float bearing an elephant, llama, ostrich, camel, burro and water buffalo--pulled by a team of Clydesdale horses.

Founders’ Trophy, for most outstanding float built by entrants themselves rather than a commercial float builder: “Shear Harmony,” La Canada Flintridge, Tournament of Roses Assn., depicting a jungle barbershop quartet of hippo, giraffe, tiger and ostrich with an elephant-customer’s hair being trimmed by an uncoiling giant snake.

Isabella Coleman Trophy, for most unusual and unique float: “Nature’s Delicate Balance,” an ethereal depiction of soaring hummingbirds amid cascading flowers with orchids as water for a birdbath and fountain.

Tournament Special Trophy, for exceptional merit not recognized by another category: “Land of Rhythm,” Malaysia Tourist Development Corp.-Malaysia Airlines, depicting two massive dancer figures swinging hobby horses above their heads in the Kuda Kepang dance, towering over costumed Malaysian dancers performing on top of oversized drums.
