Professor Griff’s Solo Debut: A solo debut album by Professor Griff, the controversial Public Enemy “community liaison” coordinator, will include a recording of the May 22 Washington Times interview in which Griff (real name: Richard Griffin) declared that Jews are responsible for the “majority of evil” in the world, starting a swarm of debate around the New York rap group. Griff’s album, titled “Pawn in the Game,” is scheduled to be released Feb. 21 (the same day as Public Enemy’s new “Fear of a Black Planet” album) by Miami-based Luke Skywalker records, best known for releasing sexually explicit recordings by the group 2 Live Crew. Griff’s title song will be released as a single on Jan. 15. Public Enemy leader Chuck D has not been involved with Griff’s record, though the group’s Flavor Flav has contributed.
