Pepsi Taps Teen Stars: The “Pepsi Generation” of advertising stars has taken a decidedly teen-age turn. Pepsi-Cola has announced that teen heartthrobs Kirk Cameron, who stars in ABC’s “Growing Pains,” and Fred Savage, star of the hit TV show, “The Wonder Years,” will be featured in commercials that are scheduled to debut Jan. 28 during the Super Bowl. “Pepsi is focused on tomorrow,” said Michael D. Simpson, executive vice president of marketing at Pepsi. “These talented teen stars keep us on the leading edge.” Actor Michael J. Fox is also scheduled to appear in a new Diet Pepsi ad on Super Bowl Sunday.
