Canadian Brewer Might Bid for Bond: Canadian brewer John Labatt Ltd. said it was considering making a bid for the Australian brewing operations of Bond Corp. Holdings Ltd., the Australian conglomerate staggering under nearly $6 billion in debt. Bond Corp. approached Labatt about a deal and Labatt has studied the possibility for about a month, said Edward Stewart, Labatt vice president of corporate affairs.
