Diagonal Parking Eases Neighborhood’s Gridlock

Share

A parking squeeze that has caused gridlock for residents of one Miracle Mile neighborhood for more than a year has been partially resolved by a new system that allows diagonal parking in the area, Councilman John Ferraro said Friday.

People living in an area composed mostly of apartment buildings north of Wilshire Boulevard and south of 3rd Street had been increasingly hemmed in by preferential permit parking districts and ongoing construction.

Ferraro said the city’s Department of Transportation made 31 more parking spaces available this week by turning one of the affected streets, Cloverdale Avenue, into a one-way street and allowing diagonal parking there.
