NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C., : Mrs. Bush Has Final Radiation Therapy

Barbara Bush underwent the last of 10 radiation treatments for an eye ailment that has impaired her vision. However, doctors may not know for four months how effective the treatment has been. Mrs. Bush suffers from Graves’ disease, an immune system disorder that causes eye irritation, double vision and bulging eyes. After receiving the treatment, Mrs. Bush returned to the White House and took her daily swim, her press aide said. She then attended a briefing on the Head Start education program.
