COUNTYWIDE : United Way Pledges Reach 95% of Goal
With less than two weeks remaining in its 1989-90 fund-raising campaign, the United Way of Orange County has reported pledges totaling $19.5 million, or about 95% of its goal.
Campaign Chairman Ron Merriman said the fund drive has exceeded last year’s $18.6-million pledge total and could surpass this year’s goal of $20.5 million before it ends Jan. 24.
“The community has rallied behind the campaign, and the result is more dollars pledged to the United Way fund drive than at any time in Orange County history,” Merriman said.
