Three Sentenced in Tax Scam: The owner of Super K and J. K. Precision Machining Inc., and one of his employees, were sentenced to prison by a U.S. District Court judge for inventing a tax scam to hide illegal profits made from overcharging the government for B-1 bomber parts. Joseph Kasparoff, 55, of Encino, the owner of two Montebello aerospace firms, was sentenced to six months in prison and fined $250,000. Harold C. Geyer, 71, of Brea, who was Kasparoff’s messenger, received a three-month sentence. Another man involved in the scheme, Frank Calta, 40, of Orange was sentenced to six months. All three men were ordered to repay delinquent taxes, which in Kasparoff’s case could reach $3 million, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Steven G. Madison.
