Interior Designers

* Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates has announced the naming of Stephen Catterall as its new vice president. Catterall will continue to manage the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office. The Marina del Rey-based company specializes in commercial, hotel/resort and retail design.

Architects

Jeffrey B. Miller has joined the Orange County office of Leason Pomeroy Associates as director of interiors. Miller will be involved in all aspects of interior design.

Widom Wein Cohen has hired Tricia Reed as director of client relations and Neil Breen as project manager of the Santa Monica-based firm.

Wolff Lang Christopher Architects in Rancho Cucamonga has promoted James P. DiCamillo to principal. DiCamillo will serve as design coordinator and direct the design review process on all projects.

David Jacobson has joined the Nadel Partnership. He will be principal-in-charge of First Street Plaza, a retail and residential project in downtown Los Angeles, adjacent to Little Tokyo.

CHCG Architects, Inc. has a new principal, David M. Hopkins. The firm specializes in architectural and interior design for corporate, educational, public, industrial and health care clients throughout the Southland. Its offices are in Los Angeles and Montclair.

Creative Environs Architects based in Montclair has named Bill Patterson project manager. The firm works on commercial, retail and industrial projects in the Inland Empire and throughout Southern California.

Builders/Developers

Watt Enterprises in Santa Monica has named Tim Kent president of its newly formed Watt/Nevada Inc., based in Las Vegas. The company’s first projects will be two single-family detached housing developments.

David Wiegman has been appointed controller of the Sickles Group in San Diego. His duties will include financial coordination and loan administration for more than 80 Sickles Group real estate corporations, partnerships, joint ventures and sole proprietorships.

Kaufman & Broad Home Corp. has promoted Kathleen Knoblauch to vice president, human resources. Knoblauch will oversee employee training, compensation administration and employee relations.

Gerald Singh is new vice president of business development at Elliott Corp. Singh will overseethe Newport Beach-based firm’s marketing and business development efforts. He will also be a liaison for various government and civic matters.

Andrew Juster has been named assistant vice president at Melvin Simon & Associates in Los Angeles. Juster will coordinate financing for West Coast projects and assist with development.

Rod Bell is new director of construction at Cambridge Development Group, headquartered in Encino. Bell will oversee home building activities in Lancaster, Quartz Hill, Victorville, Rosamond and elsewhere.

Ray Wilson Co., a Pasadena-based general contractor, has hired Donald J. Venitsky to direct business development and made Harold M. Abbott senior project manager.

C. Jamie Alai has joined McKellar Properties as development manager of its Orange County division, based in La Jolla. Alai will expedite projects coming on line, pursue acquisitions and direct its inland expansion program.

Jack Custer is director of sales and marketing for the Richard Grant Corp., headquartered in Laguna Nigel. Custer will handle the sales and marketing of its custom home developments in exclusive gated communities, including the Marbella Golf and Country Club, Bear Brand Ranch and Laguna Sur.

ACCOLADES: The Commercial Industrial Development Assn. has elected Thomas U. Wall of Transwestern Property Co. its 1990 president. The organization is made up of commercial and industrial real estate developers and public/private industry-related professionals.

William J. Vinovich III has joined Century American Homes as controller. Vinovich will oversee daily operation of the financial staff and supervise all project accountants. The Laguna Hills-based firm builds homes and apartments in Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Bernardino counties.

Marketing

Vicki Morphew has been promoted to director of operations and Kurt Kusamoto to director of design by the Santa Ana-based firm, Impact Images. The company provides sales consulting, design, production and installation services for on-site sales and information centers to home builders across the nation.

Investors/Lenders

Howard Aminoff has joined Morton Capital Management as president of the real estate division. Headquartered in Calabasas, the firm provides investment advisory services to pension plans.

Michael Mediano and Chris Lewis have been named vice presidents in the downtown Los Angeles office of Wells Fargo Realty Finance. Mediano will specialize in income property, corporate real estate sales, lease-backs and mortgaging. Lewis will continue to handle commercial and industrial properties and debt and equity financing.

Consultants

The Planning Center, a Newport Beach-based consulting firm providing multi-disciplinary planning services to government agencies and the private sector, has promoted Yacoub E. Atalla to computer services director, Terry L. Campbell, Kenneth J. Grobecker and David D. Clark to senior project managers and Donald Arambula to senior designer.

Brokers

Andrew D. Ratner has been promoted to vice president and national director of real estate services at Cushman Realty Corp. of Los Angeles. Ratner will oversee recruitment and training of the firm’s professional staff and he will provide technical expertise on select transactions.

Fred Sands Commercial Brokerage has announced the promotion of Darrell Levonian to vice president and sales manager. The firm specializes in the sale and leasing of shopping centers and commercial, industrial and multi-residential properties.

Robert W. Nolan is vice president of Great Western Real Estate and director of its new homes division. Based in Yorba Linda, Nolan will oversee new home sales throughout California.

Naomi Cessa has been appointed associate manager of Kent Realtors’ Marina del Rey office.

ACCOLADES: Bud Petrick, owner and founder of Petrick & Associates Realtors in Pacific Palisades, has received the George Washington Honor Medal from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. Established in 1949, the foundation is dedicated to creating public awareness of the American way of life as set forth in the Declaration of Independence. The Staubach Co.’s western division, based in Newport Beach, has promoted Leland Bruce and Rich Branning to senior associate and hired Tom Overend to be a senior account manager.
