WEEKEND BOX OFFICE : ‘July’ Holds Lead for Fourth Week

Universal’s “Born on the Fourth of July,” the big winner at Saturday night’s nationally-televised Golden Globe awards, was the big winner at the box office, too, holding onto the No. 1 spot for the fourth consecutive week. The movie’s four Golden Globes--for best picture, best director, best screenplay and best actor--may have given “Born” a boost for Sunday business and certainly boosts its chances for upcoming Oscar nominations. Warner Bros.’ “Tango and Cash” barely edged Fox’s “The War of the Roses” for second place on the chart while Paramount’s “Internal Affairs” had a strong $4-million second weekend to claim fourth.

* Orion Pictures’ new “Everybody Wins,” which stars Nick Nolte and Debra Winger, was the weekend’s biggest loser, grossing just $614,000 at 451 theaters.
