COLLEGE ROUNDUP : MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

UC Santa Barbara Invitational-- Cal State Northridge emerged undefeated after the opening day of the 24-team tournament, beating the top college team in Canada and the No. 2 college team in the United States in the process.

CSUN beat UCLA for the first time, 17-16, 15-9, although the win will not be included in the Matadors’ overall record because the teams played an abbreviated best-of-three match in the tournament.

Northridge began play with a 6-15, 17-15, 15-13 win over Manitoba, Canada’s top team.
